Programming an MVP Garage Door Opener

MVP’s garage door openers have three parts: the transmitter, the doorway operator and the receiver. Each has to be programmed separately before you can use the system. You must program the transmitter first, since the code you produce on it must then be programmed to the doorway receiver and operator in order that they recognize the transmitter’s signal.

Program the Transmitter

Press and hold the “+” button on the transmitter until the red LED light turns on. While continuing to hold the “+” button, then press and hold the “-” button until the red LED light begins flashing. When it does, release both buttons.

Press the button you wish to use to start your garage door. This is the door-opening button you may use when programming the doorway operator and operator.

Enter the nine-digit authentication code offered on your MVP manual. The LED light will blink twice once you’ve entered a valid code.

Program the Door Operator

Press and release the “Program” button to the door operator to set the unit to programming manner. The Program button is the very small button located only under the Stop button. You’ll know the doorway operator is in programming mode once the red LED light begins flashing.

Press the door-opening button on the transmitter to send the transmitter’s code into your door operator. The red LED light will stop flashing when the door operator has learned the code.

Repeat Steps 1 and 2 to educate the door operator additional codes from various transmitters.

Program Receiver

Press and release the “Program” button to set the receiver to programming manner. The Program button is just to the left of the LED lighting on the face of the receiver.

Press the door-opening button on the transmitter to educate the transmitter’s code into the receiver.

Repeat Steps 1 and 2 to educate the receiver additional codes from various transmitters.
