How to Remove the Mowing Deck on a Kubota G1800

The Kubota G1800, a lawn tractor using a 16-horsepower engine along with a hydrostatic transmission, which had been manufactured and sold from 1989 to 2000. Given this model’s era, it’s possible you may have to get the region below the deck to make the occasional repair or adjustment. Whether you will need to adjust the belt tension, correct a pulley or modify the blade, removing the mower deck is the very first step.

Park the Kubota garden tractor on a flat surface. Turn off the machine, and remove the ignition key. Disconnect the spark plug wire from the spark plug by pulling the boot from the plug.

Place a wooden block under the left and right borders of the mower deck. Move the deck height adjustment lever to the lowest position so the deck rests gently on the blocks.

Twist and remove by hand the three pins which connect the mower deck to the deck lift linkages. Remove the drive belt from the mower deck by simply pulling it free. Pull the wooden blocks from beneath the mower deck at a time, and permit it to rest gently on the floor.

Catch the mower deck and pull it from beneath the machine. Store the mower deck from the method of foot traffic while you make any adjustments or repairs to the Kubota garden.
